It is 2026 and guests still hold their phones toward the window. The problem is almost never the internet plan. It is the design.
Ask a hotelier about their worst review and there is a decent chance WiFi is in it. Guests forgive a slow elevator. They do not forgive a video call that drops during the one meeting they could not move.
First, consumer routers doing an enterprise job: hardware built for an apartment asked to cover concrete walls and forty rooms. Second, access points placed where the cabling was easy instead of where people actually sit. Third, one flat network where the front desk computer, the guest in 214 and the pool pump all share a lane.
It starts with a site survey, not a shopping list. Signal is measured room by room, walls and all, and access points are placed where coverage is needed. Traffic is separated: guests on their own isolated network, operations on another, cameras and building systems on a third. One guest cannot see another. A camera stream cannot slow a checkout.
The problem is almost never the internet plan. It is the design.
A proper network is also watched. Every access point on our installations reports to the monitoring desk. When one degrades, we usually know before the first complaint, and the fix is often remote. That is the difference between WiFi as a purchase and WiFi as infrastructure.
Good WiFi never earns a compliment. It earns silence, and in hospitality, silence is the review you want.
